Coffee Break Prayer Time
”The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.” Psalm 23:1
Lord Christ, You are my shepherd. You are the shepherd of all who call You Lord and Savior. So, I cannot claim an exclusive contact with You; All, including myself, have equal and intimate access with You. Thank you for providing for us; for guiding us; for supplying all our needs, even when we don’t think we needed something!
And beyond the material, You have saved us; You give healing; You give victory; You prepare a place for us; You alone have the words of eternal life! My identity is in You.
Why then do I ‘want’? What is it about me or other voices that make me imagine I really need this or that to feel fulfilled? I am grateful for Your blessings. . .but I pray that blessings from You will not create an attitude of I deserve, or I am entitled to anything but grace in You!
Make me lie down in Your contentment and peace this week. Create in me a clean ambition and heart that does not strive for something or someone beyond Your pasture. Nothing is truly better than Your green pastures and still waters!
In Your name, Jesus, our wonderful Shepherd. . .Amen!
